I have been someone who has loved photography as a small hobby since highschool and this class has allowed me to jump back into the hobby but challenge my artistic side more. In my personal experience taking photography I have always naturally gravitated towards taking photos of people and portraiture. I wanted to take a different approach for this series and look towards capturing nature. Living in Malibu I knew I was surrounded by beautiful scenery. I wanted to capture the natural beauty, natural life, and color that Malibu has to offer. I didn’t want to capture the typical Malibu nature photos, instead I wanted to challenge myself and take a different approach in what the final product would be. My goal for this series was to capture a closer point of view of all things nature in Malibu. I want viewers to look at the photos and not instantly think these were taken in Malibu. I want them to see nature in a different way than the typical broader view that we see on a daily basis. A photographer who inspired me was Dustin LeFevre His work inspired me to capture the color and nature as well as landscapes. I am proud of how far I have come in this class and through this project.
