Hailey Emmons

I have always been a music and art person. As I have grown as both a musician and artist, I found the best ways to intermingle the two. Words and phrases sung and moods evoked in song inspire colors and images that I graphically design. But for photography it is different. I am able to work with people, which I normally do not really focus on as someone who mainly works with graphic design. I have been able to work more in portrait form this year so I knew I wanted to explore more of that along with incorporating my favorite color blue. But where does the music play into this? Each one of my photos are inspired by a song that I have loved in the past and/or continue to love in the future. These include:

End of Beginning - Dijo

Cool Kids - Echosmith

Apple Pie - Lizzy McAlpine

Last Friday Night - Katy Perry

All My Ghosts

Introducing Me - Nick Jonas (from the movie Camp Rock 2)

Kids - MGMT

Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon

Shower -  Becky G

Bubbly - Colbie Caillat

I draw inspiration from the songs that I listen to in many of my works and I was so excited to do 10 different songs in 10 different photoshoots with so many people that have watched me grow in my photography journey. I drew inspiration from photographers Constantine Manos and Jamal Shabazz, both of which have photos of bright colors and fun poses. This whole process was not just an assignment but a chance to laugh and have fun while listening to good music with my friends.
