After diving into photography nearly two years ago, I’ve found myself captivated by images of people, specifically photos that make you pause and wonder: who are they, why are they here, and what are they feeling? Every day, we pass hundreds, sometimes thousands of individuals, yet we rarely stop to truly see them. I’m deeply moved by photographs that capture the beauty of fleeting moments and evoke powerful emotions in the viewer.
“Existence” is a thematic exploration of the diverse experiences and emotions that define humanity. Through a focus on intimate, individual moments, the series ties together a universal sense of shared existence. Inspired by Shin Noguchi’s “Something Here”, these images reveal the wide range of human emotions while highlighting our underlying similarities. Taken in and around Santa Monica (a vibrant melting pot of people and stories), Despite our differences, this project reminds us that at our core, we are all simply living, feeling, and being human.
