I am from Southern California, and I am inspired by documentary style photography and film. My photos were initially inspired by a photographer named Austin Stapleton whose work I admire. What I admired from his work and what I tried to accomplish with my photos was a simple portraiture style approach that created a feeling of a deeper story. I photographed a friend of mine named Jesse Lee. Jesse Lee is a man of many talents. Jesse works for the Men’s volleyball team, making the jobs of those around him easier with his humble heart. He can be described as a “swiss army knife” as he can do many tasks and be great at all of them. In Jesse's day to day he can be seen doing the laundry, cleaning the locker room, folding clothes, and collecting laundry loops. On other days he can be found putting up volleyball nets or crafting the best batch of Powerade you have ever tasted. The purpose I hope to show with these photos is a glimpse into Jesse’s day to day.
