Cindy Choi

Hello :-). My name is Cindy and I’m from OC. I am the second oldest in a family of four girls and I chose to have my youngest sister as the main subject of most of my works this semester. I thought it was a good way for me to spend time with her while also doing something fun. For the first photo project, I wanted to capture her living in a “world” I lived in when I was around her age so I took her to my elementary school I spent a lot of time playing at. Now, for this final series, I wanted something that would relate to my first project, so I chose to photograph what my younger sister would envision to be her dream “world.” I was inspired by the dreamlike feels photographer Osamu Yokonami created in his work Kumo and decided to also edit my series to recreate the “soft” aesthetics as he has. The first three photos portray my subject sleeping and waking up in her dream with the following photos showing what she wishes would come true such as walking on clouds, being rich, and more.
