My photographs emerge from a fascination with how light behaves when it meets a surface; the way it softens, bends, or fractures into something unrecognizable. My work explores this quie dialogue between the two- silent forces that reshape the familiar into something new. Here, the light and reflection both serve as subject and collaborator. I highlight that through vibrant bursts shifting shapes, and layered textures that invite sustained looking. By isolating the, often fleeting, interactions of illumination and surface, I hope to create images that open up a sense of curiosity and contemplation- ultimately hoping to reward a slower kind of attention. Revealing the subtle transformations that occur in the margins of everyday life allow me to slow down an appreciate the beauty I often take for granted.
