When I was little, I used to be obsessed with cars but that interest slowly faded and turned into sports. Before college, volleyball was something I was completely obsessed with, playing for 4 years and winning championships and earning awards. It shaped how I spent my time and how I saw myself. At the beginning of school this year, even as far as a few months into the first semester, it felt like I was missing something without it. Eventually, my inner child slowly started coming back and my passion for cars was reignited through individuals I was lucky enough to meet while I was here.

Since coming to Malibu, I’ve gotten deeply involved in car culture. What started as a simple interest quickly became a real passion. My approach is influenced in part by Brandon Woyshnis, especially in the way he captures both the cars and the environment without overcomplicating the scene. Through late night meets, canyon drives, and time spent around people who care about the same things, I found a new kind of connection. I've gone all over Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, and Santa Barbara the past few months meeting these like minded people, sometimes even without a destination in mind. These images focus less on the cars themselves and more on the people and interactions around them. I spent the last few weeks capturing these candid moments of the car community showing how a piece of transportation can also bring inidivudals together.
