A photographer that inspired me for this series is Bobby Wheat. Bobby Wheat is a Las Vegas based photographer whose work continues to motivate me as he focuses on capturing Las Vegas through an abstract lens. His photos emphasize color and also are very unique, like photos that you might not ever think to capture.

“Color” is a series that depicts what home means to me an abstract way. I am from Las Vegas, Nevada. Bright lights, color, casinos, clinking of slot machines and extravagance is naturally threaded into its name. It’s immediately what you think of when you here the city. Growing up around this environment, I thought it would be interesting to focus in on the idea of color that I see here at school, my home away from home. The chapel on campus has beautiful stained glass that reflects gorgeous colors when the sun hits the glass, so for this project I explored what the reflected stained glass colors looked like on a friend.
